Position | Paralegal (family law, estate & trusts) |
Location | 3300 Edinborough Way Suite 550 Edina, MN 55435 |
Hours | Part-time; 30 hours per week; flexible schedule |
Role | Work in collaboration with paralegal team to assist and support attorneys, acting as the point of contact for clients and potential clients, and contributing to the day-to-day administrative functions of our law practice. |
Duties | · Conducts potential client intakes and schedules consultations · Client point of contact regarding financial and income information · Coordinates client onboarding by sending firm’s retainer and other agreements · Coordinates scheduling of internal and external meetings · Leads firm’s client document handling procedures for financial and income information i.e., discovery process; balance sheets; financial disclosure statements, etc. · Drafts legal documents and correspondences under minimal attorney supervision · Develops and implements best practices for paralegal’s lead functions · Provides support to other administrative team functions as assigned |
Skills & Abilities Required | · Knowledge of the family law litigation and ADR proceedings · Demonstrate above average written and verbal communication skills · Attention to detail · Ability to work under deadlines · Proven capability to deal with high conflict situations · Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PDF management skills required · Ability and understanding of video conferencing |
Education Required | · Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, or · Bachelor’s degree + post-graduate paralegal certificate, or · A.A. degree from ABA approved paralegal program |
Experience Required | · Demonstrated writing and grammatical abilities required · Ability to work on site while adhering to COVID-19 mitigation protocols required |
Experience Preferred | · Previous family law experience preferred · Trial and litigation support experience preferred |
Compensation | · $24 – 27 per hour depending on direct experience & qualifications |
